BJC and Total AFOL asked who really owns Bricks & Minifigs. BAM’s own marketing director answered in the company Slack: Reed Brimhall is the CFO.

In July, the YouTube channel Total AFOL published a video called “Bricks & Minifigs’ Real Owner Exposed… Who Really Owns.” It was an argument about who actually controls the company, and it described Reed Brimhall, the man this site has already reported is BAM’s chief financial officer, as a “silent partner.” An owner dropped the video into BAM’s own Slack, the channel it named #tmp-youtuber_social_attacks, and mentioned that another journalist, BJC, was “really digging into the Brimhalls” too. Then BAM’s own Marketing Director answered the framing, not by denying Brimhall’s role, but by scoffing at anyone who would call it silent.

Everything about the BJC livestreams offend me.

I like how this begins by framing Reed as a “silent partner”…. As if he is not the CFO 😅

The correction is the confession

Set aside the jokes for a second, because the load-bearing line is the last one, and it comes from the company, not the critics. Bricks & Minifigs’ Marketing Director reads a video that calls Reed Brimhall a “silent partner,” and her objection is that the label is too small: “As if he is not the CFO.” She is not disputing that Brimhall runs the company’s money. She is annoyed that anyone would pretend he does not.

That matters because the whole question the video is asking, and the reason the owners are in a channel named for social attacks talking about it, is who actually controls Bricks & Minifigs. On that question, the company’s own marketing head and the critics she is mocking agree: Reed Brimhall is the chief financial officer. This is not a leak of some hidden fact. It is a document that already exists, said out loud in the one room where the company has no audience to manage.

CONFIRMEDReed Brimhall’s role as BAM’s chief financial officer is on the public record and this site has reported it from his own LinkedIn: his CFO title and a 1992 SEC censure, and the three C-suite jobs he holds at once, BAM’s CFO among them. The Slack line above is the company confirming internally what the public record already shows.

The owner who mentioned BJC was pointing at a specific broadcast. Here it is.

What this is, and is not

To be fair. A marketing director calling her own company’s CFO the CFO is not a scandal, and nobody should pretend it is; it is only notable because the public framing keeps shrinking the same man the company privately treats as central, and because it landed in a channel the company built to track its critics. The owners here are hostile witnesses, not neutral ones: they call one journalist’s work offensive and joke about a rival’s villain thumbnail, and their mood is not evidence of anything except their mood. On the journalist named in the thread: BJC’s largest broadcast was pulled mid-stream on a harassment-and-privacy report, and who filed that report has never been established. Nothing here changes that. Owners being annoyed by a livestream is not proof that anyone acted against it, and we are not suggesting a connection; we mention the hostility only because it is what the thread contains, and we have withheld the owners’ names and stores. Reed Brimhall is named because his role as chief financial officer is a matter of public record; the marketing director is identified by her title only. Nobody in this reporting has been charged with a crime.

The video shared in the thread is Total AFOL’s “Bricks & Minifigs’ Real Owner Exposed… Who Really Owns”; the BJC broadcast an owner referenced is BJC Live Show’s Brimhall episode.
