This is the plain-language version of the cited update, written to be read out loud. The letter quoted below is BAM’s own words.
A company called Bricks & Minifigs, or BAM for short, sent this website what appears to be a legal threat. The letter tells the site to take its reporting down, and to hand over the names of the people who gave it the documents. It is not even clear the letter is real. It did not come from a lawyer or a law firm. It came in through the site’s own tip box, as an unsigned form, from a general “Bricks & Minifigs Legal Team” email address that names no person.
This site already takes corrections
This site has always let people write in, to send a tip or to ask for a correction. People have done both, and corrections have been made. BAM’s letter was the first time anyone used that line to make a demand. And it was not a correction. It was a claim that the material belongs to BAM, and a demand for names.
The company itself never wrote in until July 28. And look at what its letter does not say: it never claims that anything on the site is false or wrong. It only wants the material gone. By demanding that its own material be taken down, BAM is confirming the material is real.

You are directed to:
- Immediately remove or disable access to the copied BAM support portal, copied articles, images, screenshots, instructional materials, and any other substantial reproductions of BAM-owned works.
- Preserve all evidence relating to the acquisition, receipt, copying, uploading, publication, and distribution of these materials, including source files, communications, upload records, access logs, account records, and the identities of all persons who provided or published the materials.
- Confirm in writing that the identified materials have been removed and preserved.
This notice concerns the unauthorized reproduction and distribution of BAM-owned expression and materials. It is not a demand to suppress legitimate criticism, independently created commentary, or lawful reporting based solely on public records.

What BAM gave away by sending it
By claiming the material as its own, BAM confirmed something this site has been reporting: that BAM made and controls the operations content, the manual and the how-to articles that tell store owners how to run stores those owners are told to call their own. A company cannot claim to own something and also say it is not connected to it. Every document BAM named in the letter, BAM has now vouched for as real and as its own.
The part BAM already agreed to
The letter itself says it is “not a demand to suppress legitimate criticism, independently created commentary, or lawful reporting based solely on public records.” That is what this site does. So by BAM’s own words, the reporting is not what it is complaining about.
How a real takedown works
There is a normal way for a company to get something removed for copyright. It sends a formal request to the company that hosts the website, signed, under penalty of perjury. This was not that. It went to the site, not the host. It was unsigned. It named no person. And it would not even say which BAM company owns the material.
The thing it asks for that a letter cannot get
The letter demands the names of everyone who gave the site its material. A letter cannot make anyone hand over a name. Only a court can, in a real lawsuit, and a copyright lawsuit cannot even be filed until the work is registered with the Copyright Office, which the public record shows BAM has not done. So the demand for names has nothing behind it. It will not be answered.
Whose pages these are
This site is independent. It is not owned by, run by, or affiliated with BAM. It quotes BAM’s own filings the way it quotes all its sources. The letter also lists pages on a different website at a different address; a letter to this site does not reach another website.
The bottom line
For more than a month, the site invited BAM, the company, and their lawyers to write in with corrections. No one did. The first thing to arrive was this letter: a claim of ownership, and a demand for names. The ownership claim is reported above. The names will not be handed over. The letter is now part of the record it wanted taken down.
